What is behavioral health supervisory billing/ Incident to billing?

Behavioral Health Supervisory billing, also referred to as “Incident to billing”, allows providers to submit professional claims for behavioral health services delivered by license-eligible clinicians by listing the licensed supervisor as the rendering clinician.

Katie Murphy is a license-eligible clinician. Jessica Ventura, LPC is Katie’s licensed supervisor who will be listed as the rendering clinician on submitted professional behavioral health claims.

If you are interested in using your insurance benefits, we ask that you contact your insurance company to get some information before your first session and obtain & share the reference number for your call/inquiry with your therapist.

Please know that the information obtained from the VOB is NOT a guarantee of payment/ coverage/ costs. It is only a estimate of your specific plan’s coverage/cost. Exact coverage/costs will be known only after first claim has been submitted/acceptance and we receive the “EOB” Explanation of Benefits which outlines actual/ exact coverage/cost for service(s). Your therapist will promptly communicate / confirm coverage/cost once EOB is received.
